What was true 40 years ago...
The new guard in Freemasonry is developing new ideas to better the fraternity, with many of the old guard tearing them down. Why is this, one may ask, often I am told because there is to much change involved, or because it is not the way they do (or did) things.
2Freemasonry and the Internet.
Freemasonry's presence on the internet is not what one would imagine. The ancient fraternity, famous for it's writings and illumination of light, is woefully dark in this digital realm where much of the world looking.
Draw your own conclusions....FFTNG part 2
There has been much speculation and debate over the closing of Freemasonry for the Next Generation. Because it was a private demand, it has not been publicized for the world to see.
1Masonic Censorship and the end of Freemasonry for the Next Generation

Loss of Symbolic Meaning
The education of symbolism is lost today in a sea of symbolic overload. At every turn a milieu of symbols look back at us broadcasting their individual message.
1The Blue Cards.
Recently, I started a campaign of communication. I wanted to reach as many brother Master Mason's as I could with the hope of opening a path of communication to each of them with my site.
18Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary
Happy 300th Birthday, Ben! He drew lightning from the sky, helped establish the first public hospital, university and library, and went on to shape an independent and unified nation, as well as the American character.
Masonic Imagery
I question whether or not this piece is Masonic or not. The translation reads
durch arbeit zur einigkeit - by work to the agreement
which could have a lot of meanings. I do find the eye and the pyramid are intriguing, and overall this is an interesting piece.
Freemasonry and the Blogosphere...
I've had the opportunity recently to come across 2 interesting blogs:
http://jasonofevanston.blogspot.com/
http://arsmasonica.blogspot.com/
I will be linking to soon here. Both are by brothers of the craft, one with a list of credentials as long as a cable tow, the other newly raised.
the philosophy of Freemasonry
I was thinking about the philosophy of Freemasonry and what it means.
4Dr. Margaret Jacobs on Freemasonry
This is worth posting, I'm sure it will be a very good lecture.
The Master and Officers of Santa Monica – Palisades Lodge, No. 307 Free & Accepted Masons of California and the Roosevelt Center Cordially invite you to a lecture by
Dr. Margaret C.
Tomorrow....
Wednesday night is the first of hopefully many educational classes at the lodge I have been attending. I'm very hopeful and excited about checking it out. I'll let you know more about it when I return.
Education, Light, and where it's Hidden.
To me, it seems that masonry leads to many areas of research and study. Whether it's history, religion, belief or symbols, the study in all areas of it exists.
2Where have all the Masonic revolutionaries gone?
Where have all the Masonic revolutionaries gone?
I've wondered if you can (or should) put metrics on Freemasonry, but it makes me wonder today what it means to people and what it's going to mean in 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 years.
What to do, I don't really know.
The Ordo-Structor
As I am using this mark more, I decided it would be a good idea to identify what it means.
The Ordo-Structor
Created as the mark of Freemason Information, the “Ordo-Structor” represents the ever renewing idea of Freemasonry as traveled through the time-immemorial mystery schools.
Who Owns Freemasonry
Who owns Freemasonry?
At times I find thoughts in my head that lead me to question ownership. Specifically, this time, I found myself looking at http://www.ephesians5-11.org/, which is a site dedicated to the ministry of Freemasons.
Traveling between Lodges
This past week, I had the opportunity to travel to a new lodge. My goal and purpose was to find something closer to home and see how things are done in other places. One thing that struck me was that as masons, we don't seem to travel as much as we once did.
Evolution
I've been reading a lot lately about things Freemasons can do to evolve the craft and restore it to a relevant thing. What's interesting is that the ideas are very good, and will undoubatly lead to a stronger fraternity.

Dr. Margaret Jacobs and Masonry
This last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to go to the Hollywood /West Hills Lodge in Tarzana, Ca to listen to Dr. Margaret Jacobs discuss the origins of Freemasonry. Interesting lecture, that caught me off guard in it's content.
The Builder...
There was a magazine back from the teens and 20's that was dedicated to newly raised masons. It seems there is a lot of interesting reading in it and some interesting things to learn from it. It's been collected into one journal from Kessinger Publishing, so I may have to check it out.
My masonic journey...
I think I'm a few years to late, but I suppose better late than never.
My name is Greg Stewart. I am a Freemason, raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason (3°) and later attaining the 32° degree of Scottish Rite Freemasonry. I was raised back in 1996, at Burbank Lodge, No. 406 in Burbank, CA.
